Technology Newsmakers Stage: Protecting Resident Health & Safety from All Infectious Diseases

September 2, 2021 By

Protecting resident health and safety has always been paramount in running senior care facilities and enabling revenue. The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted just how vulnerable senior populations are. In fact, in a study of 627 LTC facilities, the incidence rate ratio for COVID-19–related deaths among LTC residents was 13 times higher than that among community-living adults older than 69 years. (Source). This highlighted the need for new technology to protect this vulnerable population and the viability of senior care businesses going forward. We will discuss how technology can improve safety of residents and staff and rebuild census back to pre-pandemic levels.

Technology Newsmakers Stage: See You Later Aggregators: The 3 Digital Marketing Moves You Need to Be the Move-in Hero for Your Community

July 12, 2021 By

With online senior care searches in the US growing 20% each year, 90% originating within 11 miles of a community, and the vast majority of that traffic (92.41%) controlled by a single entity, your new resident marketing must focus on achieving top online ranking through optimized website content that leverages Google’s algorithm and platforms.

In 2021 that is exactly what’s happening but not directly for most communities. Most of that traffic is being captured by third party lead aggregators who long ago laid the digital groundwork to dominate local search rankings and capture senior living’s search traffic. While this source of reliable move-in traffic has become commonplace, delivering comfort and predictability, it also builds a dependency that brings with it financial and reputational risk.

As we come together to advance senior living, we invite our community leaders to join Glenn Hadley, Sr VP of Digital Strategy, and Josh Weum, Director of Paid Search (formerly Google), on the Technology Newsmakers Stage (4pm 9/14), for a primer on the larger conversation many communities have come to Argentum to have: how to build back a community-controlled digital marketing plan that delivers economical, efficient, and scalable marketing results.

Presenters:

  • Glenn Hadley, Senior Vice President of Strategy, Dreamscape Marketing
  • Josh Weum, Director of Paid Search, Dreamscape Marketing

Technology Newsmakers Stage: Predictive Analytics in Healthcare & How Senior Living Is Falling Behind

July 12, 2021 By

Predictive analytics is already deployed widely in healthcare: to detect falls, predict bed occupancy and availability, forecast discharge and readmission rates, and more. While focusing on facilities and community amenities, at times at the expense of investments in new technology, senior living providers and operators may now find their operational systems lagging behind.

Delivering on mission with increasing impact and efficiency is the goal of every business. In healthcare, our ability to do so effectively while maximizing financial performance and maintaining a competitive advantage depends entirely on the people who comprise our organizations. Yet we continually rely on outdated approaches to building the teams we need to win. In this presentation, Myra Norton of Arena Analytics will share examples from healthcare and beyond that rely on data and artificial intelligence to inform and operationalize good business decision-making. Don’t miss this presentation for a clear-eyed view of how predictive analytics can enable great decision-making around hiring at scale to build a talented rank and file that embodies and delivers on mission, leading organizations to outperform their peers.

Presenter: Myra Norton, President and CEO, Arena
